Findex targets NZ growth; announces 57 new partner appointments across Australasia

AUCKLAND — 24th September 2019 — Leading New Zealand professional advisory solutions firm, Findex, continues to build its corporate, tax and business advisory capabilities with a slew of high-profile hires and new partner appointments.

Findex today announced 57 new partners, including 11 across its fast-growing New Zealand network, in moves designed to significantly bolster services across Australasia.

The partner appointments include:

  • Queenstown-based Rachel Prendergast has been promoted to Associate Partner, Business Advisory. Part of the Central Otago team for 15 years, Rachel is a sought-after expert in adventure tourism, hospitality, government services and business strategy.

  • Rochelle Roddick has been promoted to Partner after seven years with Findex, Wellington. Specialising in tax advisory, Rochelle was formerly the European Tax Manager for a NASDAQ-listed technology company where she provided tax advice across the group’s European entities and to the parent company based in Silicon Valley, California.

  • Business Advisory specialist Teresa Harris been appointed a Partner with Findex Christchurch. Teresa has over 25 years’ experience as an employer and business owner in public practice as a Chartered Accountant, and over 35 years working in public practice providing both core accounting and business advisory services.

  • Chartered Accountant Jeremy Curragh moves into the role of Managing Partner of Findex Auckland and Tauranga, building on over 20 years’ experience in both the commercial sector and public practice. As lead of the New Zealand performance consulting team, Jeremy specialises in strategy development with a focus on innovation, governance, Maori business advisory, business performance and professional sports.

Findex COO Tony Roussos said the new partner appointments in New Zealand and across the Australasian network came at a pivotal growth stage for the company. “We are thrilled to recognise and promote local industry leaders Rachel Prendergast, Jeremy Curragh and Rochelle Roddick, while welcoming new partner Teresa Harris. In all, we’ve added 11 new partners in New Zealand and 57 across the total business in what is the largest promotion of talent in our company’s history.

“In 2020, we want to get closer to our clients, and these appointments add to the depth and quality of our advisory ranks. Findex has expanded significantly this year across several divisions, and we have no doubt that our new partners will play a critical role in future growth,” Mr Roussos said.

The firm, which is in over 110 locations, has experienced expeditious growth over the past year, including one New Zealand acquisition and five Australian acquisitions. The company has a proud history of growing talent internally; 68% of recent appointments came via internal promotion.

Reflecting on Findex’s expanding international advisory capabilities, several of the new appointments will be based in the Crowe Australasia team. Findex operates as the Australasian arm of Crowe Global, ranked the eighth largest accounting network in the world.
